the chia pet is not nearly so easy to grow as the commercials would have you believe. it has to be watered daily, without fail. and, um, it's growing *mold*. i'm hoping that will somehow clear up on its own.
it's little sprouts sure are cute, though!

can't see the deer for the weeds

this deer shaped flower planter cracks me up. it is perched on the railing of our front porch.

i love the contrast of the black boards and the white trim. it's an interesting treatment for an old store front.

black

i really love the starkness of the black boards and the white trim. an interesting treatment for an old storefront.

i usually walk by this gate quickly, but it always makes me do a double-take. i finally decided to slow down and see what was really happening, and it's exactly what i thought. that gate is doing absolutely nothing since the neighbor didn't gate their side.

i went to the grocery today after work. there were no signs of rain all day today.
when i left, however, it was pouring! on top of that, the rain was coming down *hard* and the wind was blowing something fierce.
i'm just glad that i happened to switch to my waterproof timbuk2 bag this morning. otherwise, the camera that took this picture and just about everything else i carry would probably be ruined. well, maybe not the camera . . . i just remembered that it is weather resistant. yea!
